Over 15 years ago, I traveled to Belgium several times to provide technical assistance to the parents of missing children who had disappeared off the streets of Belgium. After months of incompetence and laxity by Belgian law enforcement, the perp, Marc Dutroux and his wife, Michelle Martin, were arrested for the murders of four girls, and the abduction of two others who were mercifully found alive. For Michelle Martin to see the light of day, it is an outrage of the first order. Will the Belgians take to the streets again, like they did in the White March when 350,000 dressed in white protested the government’s handling of this case? Where is the justice for the innocent children?
